Famous Films Featuring Miami
September 16, 2016Miami isn’t just beautiful. Yes, with its beaches, sun, trees, and architecture it is certainly beautiful. But it’s also exciting, and filmmakers know that quite well. The blend of beauty and excitement works well in films, and many movies have made use of that. With scenic backdrops and gorgeous vistas, Miami makes a wonderful setting that simply can’t be duplicated anywhere else. Many films have made use of Miami’s unique appeal with various areas of focus and means of utilizing both its architectural and natural features.
Transporter 2
Transporter 2 made excellent use of Miami and Miami real estate. With beach houses, along with plenty of sand and sun, amidst the explosions and action you were able to get an eyeful of some of the scenic luxury. Of course, watching it on the big screen isn’t really the same as seeing it in person. Although there’s an excellent car chase scene that gives a wonderful view of South Beach, nothing really replaces the feel of the sand and actually experiencing it for yourself.
True Lies
True Lies is perhaps one of the most famous movies featuring Miami architecture. It does give a nice view of the Miami skyline and one of the more famous buildings in the area. The Colonial Bank Centre might not want to be best known for being associated with terrorists and a Harrier Jump Jet, but nonetheless it served to showcase the building very well.
2 Fast 2 Furious
Although 2 Fast 2 Furious was probably a bit more interested in roads, quick turns, and fast cars than it was in showing off Miami itself, it nonetheless managed to showcase bits and pieces of the city. Although Biscayne Boulevard and 8th Street were primarily front and center for car chases, you were able to see the Freedom Tower and the AmericanAirlines Arena. They are two of the more famous architectural attractions of Miami. They certainly see their fair share of visitors and tourists, and are certainly worth checking out if you ever have the chance.
Step Up: Revolution
Are you a fan of dance movies? If you are, you may know that Step Up: Revolution was set in Miami, and it made excellent use of many Miami locations. It features the Lummus Park stretch of Ocean Drive, as well as the Port of Miami and its various containers. It also prominently features Miami River, Lincoln Road, and the New World Symphony.
Although there’s no way to really appreciate Miami without enjoying it yourself, you can catch glimpses of Miami real estate, its beaches and eye-catching vistas on the big screen. Of course, that’s no substitute for firsthand experience. If you’ve liked what you’ve seen on camera, you’ll fall in love with the real deal.
